Wizer Activate

Wizer Activate allows you to take an original document or pdf worksheet and transform the questions into interactive Wizer questions!

This article has several entry points, depending on what type of worksheet questions you want to transform. In addition, there is a detailed video here and at the bottom of the article that demonstrates the process.

Starting with an original worksheet

First, you need to convert your original worksheet into a PDF. You can use your smartphone, tablet or computer.

Take a picture of your worksheet/s

Send the picture(s) to your email or upload them directly to your Google Drive or Microsoft Onedrive

Use one of the free picture to PDF converters to make your worksheet a PDF.

Once converted and downloaded to your computer, continue with “Starting with a PDF”

Starting with a PDF

From your Wizer dashboard, click on the green “create worksheet” button at the top left of the screen.

Click “Import Worksheet.”

Click the “Select File From Your Computer” and select the file from your computer.

Once it uploads, you’ll see the PDF page or pages on the screen. Click the first page, and then click “Continue”

Using the Text or Image Widget

You’ll use this “Text or Image” tool for any important text or images that don’t belong to a specific question. Click the “Text or Image” tool. Click on the instruction section of your worksheet at the top of the page to initiate it and expand it to cover the full text. With any text or image that you highlight, it’s important to leave some spacing at the top, bottom, and sides to ensure the system captures all of the content.

Fill in the Blanks Widget

Click on the “Fill in on image” tool and then click on the document to initiate it. Click and drag over the instruction area to cover the full question (note: you don’t need to include the question number). If there are images that go along with the Fill in the Blank question, use the background area box to cover them. Click the Convert button in the top right corner. If you want to continue transforming questions from the PDF, click on the same or another widget. If you are done, then click Finish and you will be brought back to the Wizer worksheet editor.

Multiple Choice Widget

Click on the “Multiple Choice” tool and then click on the page to initiate the tool. Click and drag over the instruction area to cover the full question (note: you don’t need to include the question number). If there are images that go along with the Multiple Choice question, use the background area box to cover them. If you have more than four answers, click the “plus” sign to add more answer fields. Click the Convert button in the top right corner. If you want to continue transforming questions from the PDF, click on the same or another widget. If you are done, then click Finish and you will be brought back to the Wizer worksheet editor.

Draw Widget

Click on the “Draw” tool and then click on the document to initiate it. Click and drag over the instruction area to cover the full question (note: you don’t need to include the question number). If there are images that go along with the Draw question, use the background area box to cover them. Create a space from this white area where the student will be able to draw. Click the Convert button in the top right corner. If you want to continue transforming questions from the PDF, click on the same or another widget. If you are done, then click Finish and you will be brought back to the Wizer worksheet editor.

Open Widget

Click on the “Open” tool and then click on the document to initiate it. Click and drag over the instruction area to cover the full question (note: you don’t need to include the question number). If there are images that go along with the Open question, use the background area box to cover them. You only need to highlight the question; the system knows it’s an open question and will provide sufficient space for the student to answer it. Click the Convert button in the top right corner. If you want to continue transforming questions from the PDF, click on the same or another widget. If you are done, then click Finish and you will be brought back to the Wizer worksheet editor.

Working with the transformed questions in the Wizer Worksheet Editor

Return to the Wizer editor page of your worksheet. With any question, you can reduce or enlarge the text that was copied from the Wizer Activate tool. When you are done adjusting, click Done. For the Fill-in-the-blanks questions, make sure to select the correct answers. For the multiple-choice section, click the letter of the correct answer, or multiple answers if more than one is correct. For both the Draw and Open questions, you can adjust the text. And, as you will see, there is space for the students to complete the tasks.

And that’s how easy it is to convert your physical pages to interactive documents!
